Description
Cement-based leveling compound containing reinforcing fibers and additives that improve elasticity and adhesion for floors where underfloor heating is installed. Suitable for use with floor heating pipes and electric cables. Also suitable for leveling weak surfaces to be repaired before fixing the floor covering.
The base must be clean and rigid. Remove cement glue, paint splatter, glue residue and other dirt and clean the floor thoroughly with a brush or vacuum cleaner. When installing underfloor heating, care must be taken to ensure that the substrate can withstand changes in volume due to temperature fluctuations.
1. Before leveling, the concrete substrate must be pre-treated with a diluted Kiilto Start Primer adhesive dispersion (10-20% Kiilto Start Primer / 80-90% water).
On floors with underfloor heating, the substrate must be sanded rough and thoroughly cleaned before applying the adhesive dispersion and leveling compound to ensure adequate adhesion. Good adhesion can also be ensured by making an adhesive layer, for example with Kiilto Repair tiling mixture, using a toothed mixture comb. Do not use an adhesive dispersion (observe the correct amount of water).
2. Non-absorbent subfloors without underfloor heating must be primed with Kiilto Start Primer adhesive dispersion before leveling.
On heated floors with a small area (less than 10 m²), an adhesive layer is applied with, for example, Kiilto Remontplatimim mixture, using a toothpick mixture comb (observe the correct amount of water, do not use an adhesive dispersion). In larger rooms, we recommend removing the old surface and leveling directly on the concrete substrate.
3. Strong wood and chipboard surfaces without underfloor heating must be primed with Kiilto Start Primer adhesive dispersion before leveling.
On wood and chipboard floors where underfloor heating is to be installed, gypsum board is installed, which is treated with undiluted Kiilto Start Primer adhesive dispersion and leveled. Good adhesion between the leveling compound and the plasterboard can be ensured by making an adhesive layer, for example with Kiilto Remontplatimis mixture (observe the correct amount of water, do not use an adhesive dispersion).
The floor heating pipes/cables are installed on top of the dried adhesive dispersion/adhesive layer according to the manufacturer’s instructions. After that, continue leveling the surface.
